About
The film follows a group of Veterans from diverse backgrounds across Wyoming as they reflect on their time in the service, the return to civilian life, and the complex trauma they still carry with them. Part pensive retrospective, part examination of PTSD, part oral history, Crossing the Threshold create a space for Veterans to discuss the difficulties and dissonances of returning home changed.

Twice Emmy-nominated filmmaker based in Lander, Wyoming. With an extensive background in film and the arts, Sophie worked for Screen Ireland (formerly the Irish Film Board), numerous film festivals in the USA, Australia & Ireland, and was employed for several years at the National Gallery of Victoria, Australia, one of the Southern Hemisphere’s premier cultural institutions. She has worked on 2022’s ‘Who She Is’, 2021’s ‘Home From School: The Children of Carlisle’ and 2019’s ‘The State of Equality’. ‘Crossing the Threshold’ will be her first feature-length film as director.

Joseph Lynch is a designer specializing in graphic and communication design. Joseph has produced promotional and learning material for film and arts clients in the United States and Australia, including the marketing and communication assets and learning materials for ‘Home From School: The Children of Carlisle’ (2021) which are now available through PBS Learning media and the National Indian Education Association. He has in-house Communications & Fundraising experience in non-profits and holds a Bachelor of Fine Art from Melbourne’s RMIT.
